Post One from Mike in Singapore

Here is the first post from Mike in Singapore. Hope you enjoy:

First Time Shopping

After “moving” into my new home for the next few months, the first thing I realized, was the refrigerator was empty.  So, off I go to the nearest store to get some basics.

My mind was already thinking of the grocery list – soda, a few pizzas, a couple bags of chips, whatever other munchies catch my eye and so on.  That is… until I actually make it to the local store
Maybe I’ve really haven't been paying much attention to the receipts when Karen takes me to Wal-Mart, but is shampoo really seven dollars?  And that’s a small size bottle (look at the size of it against a few blocks of soap!)  Yes – SEVEN dollars!

So I open my wallet, take stock of how many Sing-dollars I have, and quickly whittle down that grocery list.  First to go – pizza.

Two bottles of  Coke (2 liter each), 2 small bags of chips, 1 shampoo, a 5 pack of soap, 4 insta-noodles.  And check out my “flatware” – plastic cups, plastic forks, and a bag of chop sticks.

Thirty Six dollars.

Yeah…I do believe I may end up losing some weight while I’m here.  Laugh!
