A fellow blogger from the Seoul area posted a disturbing story today. It was about a 68 year old widow who was a bus monitor for a middle school in Greece, New York. There were students who took a video of themselves ridiculing and harrassing this lady. She was in tears during the video.
I could not bring myself to watch this video. I am a former high school teacher and youth director. I have had hope in our next generation. However, this video disturbed me greatly.
It hit me. We care about our children's toys, status, looks, etc. more than we do their hearts! I hope and pray that my boys' heart are sensitive enough that they would be brokenhearted and stand up for what is right if they were on a bus during an incident like this.
As I thought about this, I asked myself, "Am I praying for my childrens' hearts everyday? Am I praying they their heart be soft and not stone, that they are pure and blameless?" Sad to say it, but I don't do it everyday. I pray for their safety, for their time with friends and at school, for their health....but I need to pray more for their walk with God....for the state of their heart!
There is a wonderful resource that I am going to go back through, beginning tonight. Here is the link to the website.

This book is available on Kindle. Brooke McGlothlin admits she did not know how to raise boys in the way they should be brought up. It is only in our surrendering to God's leading....and giving them over to God in prayer!
I am praying for Mrs. Karen Klein, the bus monitor in New York. There has been an account set up to raise money for her to take a dream vacation. It has hit over $100.000 US dollars!
Hopefully, she will retire on that money. But who knows, maybe a great school with respectful students will hire her on...and pay her more money!!
Take time today and pray for your childrens' hearts. Pray that they will be willing to be God centered!
